The underlying principles of the project are transparency and honesty in all things, but never more so when building trust with the people who live in the buffer zone of the Dja Faunal Reserve. The opportunity to join with the local administrator’s first visit to the villages was too good to miss, as it would enable us to explain the philosophy and approach of the project, in an ‘official manner.
Launching the project
15 villages in two days is a demanding schedule, but the team were greatly encouraged by the level of interest and early engagement with the ideas of creating new ways of living for people dependent on bushmeat for survival. Read all about the project launch and what we learned here.
