LANDSCAPE CONSERVATION
Landscape Conservation comprises of a network of NGO and private enterprise partners, who work to support the conservation of the world's precious natural resources. We have a shared philosophy that meeting people's fundamental needs is essential for long term sustainability of the environment and the conservation of threatened species and their habitat. Our expertise lies in supporting mainly poor, rural people living in and around areas of high conservation value, through helping them shift from unsustainable activities such as slash and burn agriculture, illegal hunting, and/or illegal take of natural resources, to triple-bottom-line sustainable enterprises such as registration of carbon credits, bio-waste to energy, product development for new markets or domestication of livestock for food security and trade. Our skills include not only using participatory methods in decision-making, but a plethora of other tools leading to community organisation, self-mobilisation and capacity building. We have the track record of delivering solutions that are truly sustainable.
